CMI Classes
Learn the 6 Pathways of Core Movement Integration (CMI) and how to use them to improve your daily life.
- Class sessions are offered 3 or 4 times per year: fall, winter, spring and sometimes summer.
- Each session consists of a 1 hour class for 6-8 consecutive weeks.
- Classes are limited to 4-6 participants to allow individual attention and hands on guidance.
- 2 levels, Beginning Classes and Continuing Classes, are offered. All classes are tailored to the needs of the participants
Students of CMI learn the Pathways through exercises that use slow, sequential movements. Body awareness is developed using guided imagery and touch to sense movements.
Kimi gives demonstrations and verbal instructions for the movement exercises. She also uses “hands on” techniques to release restrictions, to guide movement and to enhance body awareness and coordination.
In the beginning class you learn:
- CMI movement principles
- 6 Pathways standing, lying down, and sitting
- To use CMI in your daily life.
In the continuing classes you learn:
- To use the Pathways for strengthening and for aerobic activities.
- To walk with the Pathways.
- To deepen your understanding of CMI
- To apply CMI to your daily tasks.
- To apply the Pathways to specific parts of your body.
A client says:
“Moving in a new way – one I choose and practice – opens up energy and solid presence I’ve never had before. It undoes old habits, establishes better movement and feels great. It becomes habit quite naturally and doesn’t need much more than a little repeating.”
