Drawing on her 30 plus years of physical therapy experience and 25 years of using Core Movement Integration, Kimi treats musculoskeletal injuries and neurological conditions with exercise and manual therapy that emphasize treating the whole body.  She believes that the solutions to many bodily problems, especially chronic ones, lie in developing secure support in upright positions, and learning to move the body in an integrated way rather than part by part.

Kimi’s treatments center around movement and exercise informed by the CMI Pathways and manual therapy techniques including myofascial release techniques, massage, and joint mobilization.  Her goal is to teach her clients to take care of their own bodies by reducing wear and tear with integrated movement, by maintaining strength and flexibility with regular exercise, and by using self-help techniques such as self-massage to address problem areas.

Kimi believes that successful physical therapy requires good communication on all levels, verbal and non-verbal, physical and emotional, and requires client participation and therapist sensitivity.  “I strongly believe that for physical therapy to help, you have to do your homework. I will endeavor not to increase your pain and not to cause muscle soreness, but the consequences of any treatment or exercise are not entirely predictable.  I don’t believe in ‘no pain, no gain;’ I believe in ‘no work, no gain.’  Ultimately I can’t ‘fix’ you, but I can help you ‘fix’ yourself.”
